Random matrix model for free unitary Lévy processes.
We shall investigate homomorphisms à la Bercovici-Pata between additive and multiplicative convolutions. Combined with a matricial model of Benaych-Georges and Cabanal-Duvillard, it allows us to define and study the large N asymptotic of a new matricial model on the unitary group for the free multiplicative Lévy processes. The techniques of proof relies on the theory of free log-cumulants and on the Schur-Weyl duality.

Universality classes of Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns.
A Gelfand-Tsetlin pattern of depth n is a configuration of particles on n levels. Numbering the levels from the bottom, there are k particles on each level k. Also particles interlace in that, between any 2 particles on level k+1, there is a particle on level k. Probability distributions on such patterns arise naturally as the spectrum of projections of random Hermitian matrices. As n increases, we consider the asymptotic behaviour under the assumption that the empirical distribution of the particles on the top level converges weakly. The global asymptotic behaviour of the system is related to the free additive convolution semi-group of the asymptotic measure on the top level. The region in which particles exist asymptotically is called the "bulk", and the boundary of the bulk is called the "edge". In this talk we use steepest descent analysis to examine the local asymptotic behaviour of particles in the bulk and near the edge. We also recover the global asymptotic behaviour from the local considerations.

Noncommutative Bell polynomials, ordered partitions and incidence Hopf algebras.
Bell polynomials appear in several combinatorial constructions throughout mathematics. Perhaps most naturally in the combinatorics of set partitions, but also when studying composition of diffeomorphisms on vector spaces and manifolds, and in connection with cumulants and moments in probability theory. I will present several variants of Bell polynomials, along with their associated incidence Hopf algebras (corresponding to various Faà di Bruno Hopf algebras), and sketch some links to the combinatorics of operator-valued free probability.

A simple approach to the simplicity of some Lp operator algebras.
We describe the notion of Lp operator algebras. It generalises operator algebras acting on Hilbert spaces to the setting of operators acting on arbitrary Lp spaces. We then present some examples and as one of the most important ones we study crossed product Lp operator algebras. With these in hand and motivated by a celebrated result by Powers from 1975 on simplicity and uniqueness of trace of reduced group C* algebras of free groups, with a simple approach we prove that the Lp analogue of this result holds for 1<p<∞. This covers part of my recent investigation of simplicity and characterisation of traces of reduced Lp operator crossed products by Powers groups.

A free probability theory for non unitary invariant large matrices.
Free probability theory has been introduced by Voiculescu in the 80's for the study of the von Neumann algebras of the free groups. A decade later, he realized that families of independent random matrices invariant in law by conjugation by unitary matrices are asymptotically free. This phenomenon is called asymptotic freeness and had a deep impact in operator algebras and probability. A simple particular case of Voiculescu's theorem gives an estimate, for N large, of the spectrum of an N by N Hermitian matrix H_N = A_N + N^{-1/2} X_N, where A_N is a given deterministic Hermitian matrix and X_N has independent gaussian standard sub-diagonal entries.
Nevertheless, it turns out that asymptotic freeness does not hold in certain situations. For instance, in the problem of computing the asymptotic spectrum of H_N = A_N + N^{-1/2} X_N as above when the entries of X_N are allowed to grow with N, one needs more information of A_N than its non commutative distribution. To answer this question, one can mimic Voiculescu's approach and state a generalized asymptotic freeness theorem for independent random matrices invariant in law by conjugation by permutation matrices (and not by unitary matrices).

On the CLT for lozenge tilings of sawtooth domains
Sawtooth domains are a class of unbounded, simply connected subsets in the plane. Lozenge tilings of sawtooth domains are in bijection with Gelfand-Tsetlin patterns, which are familiar objects in representation theory. Uniformly random lozenge tilings of large sawtooth domains exhibit a striking form of the Law of Large numbers: they split into a "frozen" and a "liquid" phase, these being delineated from one another by a plane algebraic curve. The shape of the "arctic curve" depends on the shape of the sawtooth domain being tiled. Okounkov and Reshetikhin gave a convincing argument that, near a "turning point" of the arctic curve, fluctuations of tiles of one type are governed by macroscopic GUE statistics. I will explain how an optimal version of this CLT can be obtained from the connection between the HCIZ integral and monotone Hurwitz theory.

Some four moment theorems.
In a seminal paper, Nualart and Peccati proved the so called "fourth moment theorem" for sequence of multiple Wiener-Ito integrals in a fixed chaos. Since then, many generalizations have been done in the framework of Multiple integrals. In this talk I will explain recent results on the so called four moment theorem in the framework of infinite divisibility. If time permits I will also explain some application to asymptotic spectral distributions of k-distance graphs. This talk is partly based in joint works with Arturo Jaramillo and with Marco Tulio Gaxiola.

CLT for product of Wishart random matrices and second order fluctuation.
The linear transfer function x -> H x + z denotes the multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) wireless communications over consecutive complex Gaussian matrix channels H = Psi Theta. When the matrix dimensions become large, the channel capacity, formulated as the linear spectral statistics of HH', is shown to be asymptotically Gaussian. We give an explicit closed-form expression for the asymptotic variance of channel capacity using second order Cauchy transform.

k-distance graphs of free product of graphs.
In this talk we will explain different products of graphs related to non-commutative notions of independence: cartesian, star, comb and free. We specialize in the free product and present a recent result in joint work with Tulio Gaxiola of the spectral distribution of the k-distance graphs of free product of graphs.

An introduction to noncommutative probability for pairs of random variables
We will present a recent idea of Voiculescu to give a meaning to the notion of freeness for pairs of random variables. We will first introduce the basic tools of this bi-freeness theory and then turn to its combinatorial aspects, developped by Chalresworth, Nelson and Skoufranis. Eventually, we will go to the operator-valued setting, where things become more technical.

Operator-valued bi-free probability
This talk follows the one given last week. We will introduce the operator-valued setting for bi-free probability. The ideas come from free probability but several technical issues arise, which can be solved using the combinatorial approach of bi-noncrossing partitions.

On generalized Dyson Brownian motion
In this talk, I will first present the joint work with X.-D.Li and Y.-X Xie on the study of generalized Dyson Brownian motion(GDBM) with a general potential V. Under some reasonable condition on V, we prove the existence and uniqueness of the strong solution to SDE for GDBM; then we study the large N limit behavior of the empirical measure of GDBM; The law of large numbers and the central limit theorem are established. In the end, I will talk about the Dyson Brownian motion on the octonion algebra: due to the fact that octonions are nonassociative, the dimension of the matrices plays a special role; we give two specific models on octonions, which give some indication of the relation between the multiplicity of eigenvalues and the exponent on the law of the spectrum.

What would a Brownian motion on the Unitary Dual Group (Brown algebra) be?
In Quantum Probability the right object to be able to define Lévy processes are dual groups, as they were defined by Voiculescu. In this talk we will be interested by the Unitary Dual Group U_d, which is generated by d^2 generators u_ij which verify a unitary relation (and which do not commute). We will try to answer to the question of what a Brownian motion on such a structure could be. To do that we will construct a Lévy process on it as limit of a matricial process on U(nd) which will be seen blockwise. We will see that this process verifies nice properties such that we could call it a Brownian Motion on U_d.

Products with truncated unitary matrices
Recently, Akemann et al. showed that the squared singular values of products of complex Ginibre random matrices give rise to a determinantal point process. This multiplication with a Ginibre matrix was interpreted by Arno Kuijlaars and Dries Stivigny as a transformation of so called polynomial ensembles. In a recent joint work with Mario Kieburg and Arno Kuijlaars we showed that multiplication of a random matrix with a truncation of a Haar distributed unitary matrix can also be interpreted as a transformation of polynomial ensembles. This formula can be used repeatedly to describe the joint pdf of the squared singular values of a product of r truncated unitary matrices and s Ginibre matrices. After this, we will focus on the global distribution of the squared singular values of these products. In particular we will introduce an appropriate general class of measures with moments essentially given by specific Jacobi polynomials with varying parameters. Solving the underlying moment problem is based on a study of the Riemann surfaces associated to a class of algebraic equations. This last part is based on joint work with Thorsten Neuschel and Wolfgang Gawronski.

Random Operator-Valued Matrices
In this talk, we will introduce random operator-valued matrices. Our starting point will be a discussion on how operator-valued free probability may help us to find (good) approximations to information theoretic characteristics of some multiantenna systems. In this context, it is natural to introduce the random version of these operator-valued models (matrices). We will briefly discuss some information theoretic properties of these random operator-valued models and finally we will make some remarks about the kind of tools required to deal with this probabilistic version of operator-valued free probability theory.
